Debbie ShalomIn 2003, I decided to leave my career as a teacher, trainer, and writer and follow a new path that would be personally fulfilling and provide a much-needed service to individuals and companies. After considerable thought, research, and career coaching, I founded Amazing Resumes u0026amp; Career Coaching Services.

In a short period of time, Amazing Resumes u0026amp; Career Coaching Services became a well-respected resume writing and career coaching firm primarily serving the Mid-Atlantic region, including Baltimore, MD, the Maryland suburbs, Washington, DC, and Northern Virginia.

“Invest in your Success” is my business slogan because I want my clients to know that gaining a competitive edge is an investment on their part. The word “invest” refers both to a financial and personal investment. I believe it is not enough to pay for a service; in order to get top results, clients need to be invested in the process. Clients must actively follow through on the information and resources they are given.

Throughout the years, I have fine-tuned my company’s products and services. Keeping up with industry trends, attending professional conferences, networking, and earning credentials that boost my professional knowledge and brand have all contributed to the highest standards of excellence. My focus on providing personalized support and a comprehensive list of services and resources is crucial to my client’s success.

I continually update my professional qualifications and knowledge and hold the following degrees, certifications, and professional memberships.

  • Master of Arts degree – Goucher College
  • Bachelor of Arts degree – George Washington University
  • Academy Certified Resume Writer (ACRW) – Resume Writing Academy
  • Master Resume Writer (MRW) – Career Thought Leaders (FKA Career Coach Academy)
  • Certified Career Management Coach – The Academies (FKA Career Coach Academy)
  • Online Professional Networking Specialist (OPNS) – The Academies (FKA Career Coach Academy)
  • Member of: Career Directors International (CDI), the Chesapeake Human Resource Association (CHRA), Career Thought Leaders (CTL), and various professional groups on LinkedIn.

My professional knowledge and insights on the topics of resume writing, career coaching, personal branding, and employment trends have been published in the Washington Post, Baltimore Business Journal, The Baltimore Sun, The Business Monthly, and the Baltimore Jewish Times. I have also been interviewed numerous times by local television stations, including Fox 45 News, WMAR TV, and Maryland Public Television (MPT).

Additionally, articles I authored were published on various online sites, including the career section of MSN.com and EzineArticles.com. Original resume samples appear in the Directory of Professional Resume Writers by L. Kursmark and Expert Resumes for Career Changers by L. Kursmark and W. Enelow.

As part of my personal legacy and business mission, I am proud to volunteer at the Maryland Center for Veterans Education and Training (MCVET). There I work both one-on-one and in large groups with unemployed and homeless military veterans. I tutor them on resume writing and cover letter development. I also provide information and resources to assist with their job search. As Dr. Ben Carson said, “Happiness doesn’t result from what we get, but from what we give.”
